All over the world, schools are closed. The children are at home all day with their parents. A lot of people are going crazy, and wondering what they should do with the kids, and how to manage the mayhem – especially as they clean and prepare for Passover.

Really, the whole week is now just like Shabbat, when everyone is together! We are supposed to remember Shabbat the entire week, and now we can fulfill that obligation to the fullest!

Say Psalms with your children – as much as you possibly can. Psalms are the most powerful weapon that we have in this world! Psalms are a shield, they heal us, and they give us confidence and security. Sit as a family and say Psalms together. Give prizes for children who say more and say them with concentration.

Nowadays, it is easy to put on music in the house. Sing a lot with the children, and dance with them – every day. Be happy! Make sure that you are instilling happiness in the house, and that the children are happy to be there with you. All sickness comes from sadness, and the most powerful healing potion there is – is simply to be happy!

We also recommend that you read Rabbi Arush’s article Recipe for a Happy Summer Break. This is just an additional extended Passover vacation (of sorts) and all the advice still applies!
