The Flakefoot Falcon – Part 6

With food in beak, Frankie headed home to his family. They were all waiting for him when he got back and greeted him with admiration and love.

 

 

Frankie finally realized where he belonged. He spent so long trying to find new birds to be with when all he needed was to return home. Frankie embraced his family who looked up to him and was thankful that he had them. He realized that they all loved him for who he was and he didn’t have to pretend to be anybody else. Frankie was home.

 

Now that Frankie understood his good points, he gained a new feeling of confidence. He spread his wings and took off in flight from his cliff edge home. He soared high in the blue sky, above the pigeons and the crows, even higher than the eagles. All the animals of the forest gazed skyward to see the beautiful victory flight of the undisputed king of the sky, Frankie the Flakefoot falcon. Nobody saw the flakey feet. They only saw graceful golden wings reflecting the sunlight.

 

 

Frankie was the winner, because he defeated sadness. He did what Rebbe Nachman of Breslev teaches all of us to do – to concentrate on developing our strong points, and not to pay attention to our weaknesses. That way, we all become winners too.
