It was getting late and Frankie had to get food to bring home to the family for dinner. He set off in high flight to search for some field mice or some other delicacy. As he flew high up in the sky, he forgot all of his sadness. With the wind blowing through his feathers, he noticed he was the highest flyer around. He had incredible vision and could see everything that was going on over the forest. He flew over the hummingbird. He couldn’t hear the hummingbird from way up there, but he could see the hummingbird looking up at him with awe. He flew over the woodpecker. He could see the woodpecker getting in to more trouble pecking away at another poor guy’s cabin. Frankie knew the woodpecker could never fly as high and as fast as he could and he was glad to be far away from the woodpecker. Frankie flew over the chicken coup. All the paranoid chickens were flapping around, looking quite unsettled. Frankie was relieved not to have stayed there. Not only were they all cooped up in a cramped space, but they don’t like anyone who is not like them. Frankie felt so free and alive flying high up in the sky. Last on his trip home, he flew over the flamingos. They looked a bit agitated. Frankie noticed they were scared of something. Oh, it was just a few mice that had come out to play. Perfect. Frankie zoomed in quickly to catch the mice for his supper. The flamingos, relieved to not have those creepy mice at their party, thanked Frankie for taking care of their mice problem. Frankie was their hero.

Frankie felt so free and alive flying high up in the sky.
