I have recently found this site (breslev). I have just read the 2016 article about Michelle (a Noahide). Great advice given. My journey is somewhat similar to Michelle's. I am looking for a daily devotional??? And/or something that I can listen to whilst in the car to and from work that will keep my mind centred on The Creator. There are so many resources available, it's hard to choose. Any suggestions from your store? Kind regards Sharon

Thank you so much for your very clear explanation of how to use emuna with conventional remedies to treat disease. Not one or the other – both are needed to restore health.

why to keep away from doctors – today too and even more than ever before – cont’d

The Torah tells us that doctors "have permission to heal." However, most doctors today don't heal, or even claim to. After all, if someone is put on drugs for life (as most people "suffering from mental illness" are) then where's the cure? Is a diabetic cured from diabetes by taking insulin? No, he's just dealing with it. Doctors can cure us of disease with medication but they can't heal our souls, though they claim to be able to fix our brains. Don't be fooled!

Why are so many people on multiple drugs? Because the side effects of the 1st necessitate a 2nd to deal with them, and so on. Getting off these psych drugs can be a nightmare with severe withdrawal effects (usually brushed off by shrinks as "the disease returning.") That's why they should be used – and withdrawn from – with extreme caution. Only VERY gradually and even then it's hard going. Doctors today mostly don't treat the cause, but only the symptom. That's another good reason to stay away.

So this Michelle was helped by her meds. Could be, but studies show that anti-depressants help only for about 1/3 of the people taking them, and that's without accounting for often severe side effects. (And sugar pills – placebos – have a similar rate of "success" in treating depression, without the side effects…) Rebbe Nachman warned against going to doctors because they cause more trouble than they resolve, and that's just as true today as then, if not more so. Cont'd in next post…
