Practicing (or, as in my case, trying to practice emunah) is not a cop-out. It is hard work! Having the strength and courage to put your faith in HaShem when all your conditioning and your environment tell you to blame others is really difficult. Emunah is not about abdicating responsibility. It means taking responsibility to discover HaShem's purpose in creating YOU. It means having the courage to follow the path HaShem has mapped out for YOU, even if it means giving up some treasured, but transient, possessions or beliefs. It means shattering all your crystallised mindsets, and being willing start afresh. Adopting an emunah way of life is scary beyond belief, liberating beyond measure, and FUN!
