Stereotypes of online dating

As an unfortunate veteran data I can tell you that there is no difference in the quality of people one meets online as opposed to through a personal contact, for the good and the less so. One has to be careful regardless of the medium. So no need to disparage online dating so much. Lots of religious people meet that way and get married. The real problem is that this person is not Jewish. Being Jewish is like being pregnant, you either are or you're not. You can't be a little bit. Same for being married, when you're told about a person who is getting divorced. If he's not 100% single, he's still married. Same for being Jewish. If he's not 100% Jewish after the Beit Din and Mikve with a certificate of conversion, he's still a gentile.
