Seeds of Faith

מִֽי־כָמֹ֤כָה בָּֽאֵלִם֙ יְהֹוָ֔ה

Who is like You among the heavenly powers, Hashem? (Exodus 15:11) 

In today’s hyper-fast, over-digitalized world, you might feel like a slave — a slave to the powerful, the wealthy, and those holding the microphone.  

This insidious feeling seeps into our consciousness after years of being force-fed abominable things, directed to consume this bile as if it were water. It arises from watching, time and time again, those who champion evil get pardoned by law enforcement, while those who stand up for decency are punished to the full extent of the law . . . and often beyond. 

To break free, we must remember that it’s all a facade.  God is in charge.  

When we say, “מִֽי־כָמֹ֤כָה בָּֽאֵלִם֙ יְהֹוָ֔ה” (Who is like You among the heavenly powers, Hashem?) we declare that all the influence, power, and technology of this world are mere trifles in the eyes of God. When He wills it, He can halt all the forces of this world. Everything we create is but a child’s toy to our Maker. 

Watch This Seed Become a 10-Foot Giant 

A sunflower seed, no larger than the nail on your pinky, measures just a few centimeters in length. Yet, plant it in the soil and within 100 days, it will grow to an astounding 10 feet tall — towering over even Lebron James by one and a half times his height.  

Hashem imbues this single tiny seed with the power to expand into over 2,000 seeds. 

The sunflower is a marvel of intelligence. Each morning, it faces east to greet the sun. As the sun journeys across the sky, the sunflower’s face follows, soaking up the rays throughout the day. By evening, it turns westward, and over the night, it repositions itself to the east, ready to catch the first light of dawn. 

While it took Lebron James 18 years to grow nearly 7 feet tall, Hashem designed the sunflower to achieve its towering height and abundant yield in just 100 days.  

When Hashem wills it, even the most miraculous events unfold seamlessly within the fabric of nature. 

Hashem’s Unstoppable Decrees 

Every year, trillions of times over, God takes an empty field and, with nothing more than a single seed, produces something truly magnificent in just a few weeks!  

A simple sunflower stands as a dazzling testament to “מִֽי־כָמֹ֤כָה בָּֽאֵלִם֙ יְהֹוָ֔ה” (Who is like You among the heavenly powers, Hashem?)

Nothing can obstruct His will. Nothing can thwart His decrees. 

What does He decree for every Jew? What incredible guarantees does He give to us? 

• An era of unrestrained peace from all those trying to destroy us 

• A time of unlimited prosperity 

• An age where sickness, poverty, and need are no more 

• A time where our sole focus is to serve Hashem and to know Him 

• Infinite rewards for performing mitzvot 

Neither the UN nor CNN can impede Him. Twitter and Facebook can comment all they want; it changes nothing.  

A sunflower doesn’t take six months to grow, nor does it sprout in four weeks. Everything happens in its time, but it does happen. Hashem assures us that the best blessings for the Jewish People are fast approaching.  

Our task is to be ready.  

We can hasten this glorious time by becoming more steadfast and focused in serving Him. Continuous commandments like guarding our speech, not hating a fellow Jew in our heart, and treating our soulmate as the most important person in the world in everything we do are excellent places to start. 

Find something, anything, to bring yourself closer to Hashem. May we all blossom like sunflowers, always turning our heads to soak in His Divine Light.
