Ha ha, so true. I had a similar experience: needing a quick-fix answer, I fired off an emotional email to a rabbi who would have the right words. I got an answer to call him on his direct line. As soon as I read those words, I realised that I had another, far higher, direct line to "call"….. I thanked him profusely for sending me exactly the right words I needed to hear!!! After calling 555- Hashem direct, I got the answer I needed.
