Replacing USA with G-D

Is Israel's future really bound up with American politics and diplomacy? Let's review how Avraham Avinu dealt with conflicts between Hashem's commands and outside cultures.

From the first parsha of the Torah that we read during Simchat Torah to the parsha of Chanukah, we learn one of the most essential lessons in emunah:

  • Even if you are outnumbered a million to one, like Yosef, if you are on G-D’s side, He will protect you.
  • Even if you are a single person against the entire world, like Noach, if you are on Hashem’s side, He will choose you over the entire earth.
  • Even if you are few in number, like the Maccabees, if you are fighting for G-D, it doesn’t matter how powerful the millions of people you fight against are, G-D will make you win.

It’s time to claim our birthright as the children of Noah, Shem, Avraham, Moshe, Gidon, and David. It’s time to replace “USA” with G-D.

America is dictating to Israel whom it can and cannot appoint to serve as ministers. People fought and bled for the right to vote, yet America ignores the will of a free nation.

Israeli schools, even state-run religious schools, are being force-fed the “identity” agenda. Teachers are forced to ask their students, “What do you identify as?”

The worst forms of sodomy and perversion are being forcefully inserted into our culture against our will. There is little to no protection for the warriors holding on to shemirat habrit (personal holiness) in Jerusalem, but thousands of soldiers are needed to protect those who attend the yearly debauchery parade.

Despite having the most powerful army in the region, our soldiers aren’t allowed to defend themselves or us against armed terrorists who try to kill women and children. Restraint orders don’t come from generals in Tel Aviv, they come the American State Department.

It’s time for us to rethink our alliance with America.

We Must Persevere

It doesn’t matter if it’s Bibi or Lapid in charge. Both are secular Israelis from Tel Aviv who see power in human terms: politics, diplomacy, and economy.

Those who faithfully follow Hashem know Him, and can view the modern-day Hellenists from the USA as our enemy. The latest election results put us at about 30% of the Jewish population in Israel.

It’s time for Israel to switch sides. No more USA. From now on, it’s G-D.

The next time we build a home in Jerusalem, let the USA threaten us. The next time we ban all non-vital public services on Shabbat, let the USA boycott.

The next time we kill a terrorist on the spot who is trying to harm any man, woman, or child, let the Americans isolate us.

We can persevere because G-D is on our side.

The War of Emunah

Let’s follow Nachshon ben Aminadav into the Red Sea – all the way up to our noses.

The first two Torah readings in Sefer Bereishit (Book of Genesis) – Bereishit and Noach – deal with mankind before Avraham was called by Hashem. The remaining ten Torah readings focus on the Jewish People.

The answer is right in front of us: G-D is on our side.

We have to believe it.

We have to be willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for Hashem.

We have to be willing to sacrifice our comfortable, easy, prosperous life on His altar.

We have to be willing to do as Avraham did and go against the grain of the world for G-D.

Avraham was called an Ivri (a Hebrew) because the root ever means “to cross over, to go the other way.” Avraham went against the entire world seeped in idolatry, murder, and licentiousness to serve G-D.

The king of the world, Nimrod, threw Avraham into a fiery furnace, but Hashem saved him.

The kings of the world fought a war against Avraham and his 317 soldiers, but Hashem saved them.

In the Sixth World Zionist Congress in Basel (1903), we fought Theodor Herzl’s plan to settle Jews in Uganda. We believed that Jews belong in the Land G-D gave us. Thanks to Hashem’s help, we are now thriving in Eretz Yisrael.

When the newly formed State of Israel declared Independence (1948), seven Arab armies and the British Empire went to war to finish us off even after the Nazi Empire annihilated a third of us. We fought half the earth in the name of the mitzvah of settling the Land, and Hashem saved us.

For the past 75 years, in the name of our father Avraham and in the name of the mitzvah of building up the Land and His Torah, Hashem has saved us again, and again, and again.

It’s time for us to break with Alexander the Great’s plans to spread Greek culture. It’s time for us to rekindle the light of the Holy Temple.

It’s time for us to stand alongside our forefather Avraham.

It’s time for us to Make His will like our will, so that He will make our will like His will. We will nullify our will before His will, so that He will nullify the will of others before our will. (Ethics of the Fathers 2:4)

If we stand with G-D, He will stand with us.

It’s time to change sides.
