Why is Israel a high-tech powerhouse? Because complexity is our domain.

The world has become complex and the darkest forces have commandeered that complexity to confuse us. Even those singers and actors who are not perverse, are forced to dress, talk, and act as if they are just to “break out” into stardom.

Has it really gotten that bad? Only if you listen to their music.

The world hasn’t changed since Adam and Eve lit the first Shabbat candles.

This August, we went to Meshushim Stream Nature Reserve. We climbed down about 40 minutes to the bottom of a hill inside the Golan Heights to see one of God’s masterpieces.

Meshushim Stream Nature (Golan Heights, Israel)

Prophets and Judges swam in these waters.

Despite all the man-made “changes” happening on the internet, what Hashem makes withstands the force of time.

It reminds us of three truths that strengthen our faith in God:

  1. Air is everywhere. We cannot go without air, ever. If we go a single minute without air, our brain cells begin to die. If we go three minutes without air, we suffer serious brain damage.
Nobody can survive without air. Not the rich, the poor, the powerful or the weak. If there were ever a commodity that the powerful could use to enslave the weak, it would be air. We would pay any amount to have a constant supply.
This is the only commodity in existence that we can consume for free. There has never been any legal, political, or financial restraints on the unlimited personal use of air.
This is the one creation that God places everywhere. There is nowhere on His earth He withholds air from any of us. The one constant physical requirement all of us have in order to live, God gives us in unlimited abundance all the time.
  2. Why is the sky blue? What is something you see anywhere you look? The sky. You can look up, or even straight ahead to the horizon.
Every single day of your life you will see the sky.
Why is it blue? According to Rabbi Avigdor Miller, God made the sky blue because it is easiest on the eyes. The color doesn’t make your eyes “work” to see it in its full glory. The sight of the blue sky soothes the instrument – the eye – that Hashem gives us to perceive it.

Holy, holy, holy, Hashem, Master of legions, the entire earth is filled with His glory. (Isaiah 6:3)

  3. Who is God talking to in the Bible? There are an estimated 6 billion people on earth who have read the Bible. Do you know the difference between those 6 billion people and the 14 million Jews?
God is talking directly to us.
Every line in the Torah is a dialogue between Hashem and the Jewish People.
When they read the Bible, they are learning about the dialogue between the Master of the World and His children. When we read the Torah, we are listening to God speaking directly to us.
Every blessing we make to God confirms this:
Blessed are You God, our God Who is King of the Universe. . .

No other nation has this when they read the Bible. For every one of us, the other 425 people are reading something that involves other parties. It’s an indirect relationship. They don’t follow every single line because God doesn’t ask them to. For the Jewish People, we are the characters in this Book. Every line of Torah is a Divine discussion going on right now. We have the honor of reading a living Bible and opening up an active conversation with the Creator of the World, Who is our King.

Let the heathens delude themselves into thinking that times have changed and their new world order will reign supreme over us. The Egyptians thought that. So did the Canaanites, the Persians, the Greeks, the Romans, the Soviets, the Nazis, and now the progressives.
They are just the next addition to the dustbin of history.

The next time you read the paper and fear that Alexandria Ocasio Cortez and Sean Penn will accomplish what the Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar, and Joseph Stalin couldn’t . . .

Look up at the sky and take a deep breath.
