Hardboiled Eggs, Part 2

A missing fresh egg could cause him a nights of zero sleep.
In fact, anything out of order could make him weep.

By tradition, the stores in Purity Springs close down for a lunch
Siesta each afternoon is an opportunity for people to rest and munch.

Purity Springs store owners never bother to lock their doors,
Because everyone there knows what’s mine is mine and what’s yours is yours.

And if you ever needed something urgently during lunch break or at night,
just walk in the store, get what you need and leave a signed IOU – it’s definitely alright.

Or cash payment by the cash register – Willy doesn’t mind at all.

As long as he knows who left the money, go ahead and have a ball.

One day, Willy came back to the store after lunch break, at his usual two minutes before three o’clock.

Before siesta, he had five entire crates of eggs left in his stock.

He took a second look around because one of his crates was missing
He rushed inside the store to see if anyone left him payment before dismissing

But when he looked inside for the money, he found nothing by the counter.
His pulse quickened and his face flushed with concern about this encounter.

What happened to the twelve eggs? The mystery taunted his thoughts the whole day.

How could someone take something from him and forget to pay?

To be continued.
