Gentile autore,
Solo Dio decide chi merita e chi no.
Io non sono ebrea, ma Dio mi ha vista.
Grazie per portare nel mondo la verità.
Shalom

100% True – but careful!
Bs"d Pinhas – what you say about a an unmarried woman covering her hair is derived from the Sifri. The Mishnah Brurah (75:2) quotes the Panim Meiros and the Magein Gibborim that if an unmarried girl had had relations before and still refuses to cover her hair – we do not compel her to do so. Judging by each and every situation – in many cases it might be preferable not even to notify her of such a requirement.

YES! WE WILL OVERCOME!
I only wish I could amplify Rav Brody's call millions of times over! With so many confused young men and women today, even among observant circles – the Yetser Hara will "allow" people to build yeshivas and increase Torah study without too much resistance. But the inherent modesty of the Jewish housewife? This is where he goes to war – for this is ultimately what counts the most! We're all routing for you!

This was a nice response, but more could have been said. Give her the kabbalistic reasoning! Honesty is in short measure now too, lay it out! People myself included are tired of being patronized and treated with unforthcoming tailored responses. First off its not MARRIED jewish women! It is a halakhic requirement for any jewish woman who is no longer a virgin. In other words every beulah covers her hair. This is the reason widows and divorcees continue to cover their hair, in all honesty it is NOTHING to do with marriage! It is to do with what usually first occurs upon marrying – sexual relations. Once a jewish woman has had sexual relations, she covers her hair. I am not able to answer if this requirement is also in the case of a jewish gal who has relations with a goy. WHat you bring from the Sefer HaKhinnukh is the best explanation. In Kabbalah we are told (sorry dont know where) that when what was closed below is opened, what was opened above is closed. There is an innocence to a virgin who has not known relations which has her not being such a how shall I say? – prowl? Once a gla has had relations, she KNOWS something she didnt know before, and she has new found powerrs so to speak, prowl powers? She knows what relations are all about, and she craves them and I guess realizes she can get them with ease if she pleases. So like the Khinnukh says, her beauty (sexual powers) must then be diminished. Its like the monster has been let out of the box and now the box must be capped! I am not so elloquent, and am looking for the right words to explain this all, just hope others get what I am trying to get at.
