What are we meant to learn and take from this? is always THE question.
.
I think that there are several lessons:
To realize the power in the holiness of a tzaddik. This is the type of person to associate with and learn from.
To realize that one’s resolution and determination in which path he (in this case, Lord Vasily) wants to go isn’t necessarily how it’s going to turn out. The Yiddish expression “Man makes his plans and G-d laughs” might fit here :-).

its a beautiful story but I feel the ending lost me a bit. I get that its connecting tot he reference made of Eliyahu and his ability to “take off” his body at will. but how is this relevant to us? what are we meant to learn and take form this ?
