Chocolate & Peanut Butter Drizzle Hamantashen

This awesome variation of the traditional Purim cookie uses double chocolate with a drizzle of peanut butter to create mouth-watering hamantashen.

INGREDIENTS 

3⁄4 cup sugar 

1 1⁄2 cups all-purpose flour, sifted 

1⁄2 cup cocoa powder, sifted 

1 1⁄2 teaspoons baking powder 

1⁄4 teaspoon salt 

1 stick butter, room temperature (substitute parve margarine)

1⁄2 teaspoon vanilla 

1 egg, plus another for egg wash 

2 tablespoons orange juice 

1 cup chocolate nut butter 

 

Peanut Butter Drizzle 

1 tablespoon peanut butter 

1⁄4 cup powdered sugar 

4 teaspoons milk (substitute parve almond or hazelnut “milk”) 

  

PREPARATION 

1. Combine dry ingredients in a large bowl: sugar, flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.  

2. Add wet ingredients (butter, vanilla, 1 egg and orange juice) to dry ingredients and mix with fingers. Combine and form dough into a ball. 

3. Chill for 1-2 hours or up to overnight.  

4. When ready to bake, preheat oven to 350°F.  

5. Roll dough out, cut into circles with a 3-inch cookie cutter (or wine glass). 

6. Add 1 teaspoon of chocolate nut butter to the middle of each circle and pinch three corners to form a triangle.  

7. Wash with egg wash and bake for 12-15 minutes. Let cool. 

8. In a small bowl, mix peanut butter, milk and the powdered sugar. Drizzle over cooled cookies.
