By extracting the good points in ourselves, we begin to negate the thoughts that tell us that we are not good enough, smart enough or talented enough…

The human brain is programmed to protect us. When a person goes through a painful experience, the brain stores the memory of that hurt to prevent similar experiences from reoccurring. Because of this protective mechanism, we are all predisposed to negative thought patterns, as our minds search out the worst possible scenarios. Our collection of stored negative experiences creates a distorted view of reality, which often prevents us from optimizing our potential.
People often think about their past failures, and second guess their ability to change. This self-doubt and negative self-talk cause them to pass up opportunities that can help them fulfill their mission in life. It’s important to note that our greatness originates in our soul, and each soul has a unique mission in this world. By internalizing this knowledge that we are each great, we will begin to see the good points within ourselves, thereby creating positive energy that will facilitate this greatness.
By extracting the good points in ourselves and within each circumstance, we will begin to negate the thoughts that tell us that we are not good enough, smart enough, or talented enough. By becoming aware of what we focus on and by making it our priority to see ourselves and others in a positive light, we will create a vessel to attract more blessing in our lives. When we truly believe that every set-back is an opportunity for growth, we will never give up, no matter how many times we fall.
It is the consistent practice of changing our perception to see the good that will generate true happiness. This mindset of gratitude, of seeing what we do have instead of what is missing, will enable us to create a new story of ourselves. By understanding that every dark day is a learning experience, we will be able to accept each obstacle with the knowledge that we will overcome.
To have success in any area in our lives, we must practice good judgement which is the result of learning from our past experiences from our past failures. Although experiencing and confronting failure is painful, it is also a vital aspect to leading an enriching life. No one is perfect. It is this acknowledgment which will set us free to accomplish our goals without the fear of failing.
By creating new patterns of thinking, we can contradict the story that we have in our minds and eliminate the excuses which prevent us from getting the job done. By appreciating the good that surrounds us, and recognizing our own greatness, we can achieve anything that we set our minds to. True happiness stem from contradicting the darkness with light; and despite all odds, utilizing the innate talents and potential from within to surpass our own expectations.
