Time to Pray
Sandy discovered the sweetness of personal prayer; she was so delighted with the privilege of being able to speak to the King, that she wrote a poem...
It’s time to pray – don‘t know what to say
To speak to the King – an awe inspiring thing
The One who knows my thoughts and needs
The Judge who watches all my deeds.
He, who lets me know, now I’m feeling this warm glow
That Hashem really loves me so!
That time in the day – I do have time to pray
An Audience with the Almighty King
Such a precious, Holy, Amazing thing
To draw myself close – Yes! He listens to me!
Quietly calm in the Presence of The Ribono Shel Olam.
Thank You for my day – that’s the first thing I say
In fact I usually start this way…….
Thank you for everything I had to do
All my skills and energy are gifts from You.
Thank You for my parents, my husband, my son,
Once you start thanking the list just goes on and on…….
Thank You for food – You give me more than I need
Please Hashem, keep me far away from greed
Except Torah and Mitzvot, that greed is allowed
Hashem, my Loving Father, I so want to make You proud.
I think of my actions, remember all that I’ve done
Humbly and shyly facing the One
Who knows exactly what I can be.
When you carefully treasure this time in the day
Simply reflect and open your heart,
Hashem always listens – whatever you say
Come Home little Princess, most cherished and loved
Precious Neshama who longs to be close
To Your Heavenly Father who loves you the most.
Tell us what you think!
Thank you for your comment!
