Dandy’s insolence
And his obvious goad
Was a complete disgrace
Of the deer-honor code.
But humble Zachary
Firm and committed
Had the boasting young buck
Completely outwitted.
"Here ye, young stag!"
He declared with power,
"The race shall begin,
In one short hour!
Let deeds do the talking
Let faith show its might
Soon all shall witness
Who’s wrong and who’s right!"
