The Scent of Mashiach

Current events are giving us whiffs of Mashiach’s arrival. How will our lives be different the “day after”?

For the past five years, the world has been bullying good people.

Anyone who loves God.

Anyone who loves their country.

Anyone who believes in a husband and wife. A family. A boy and a girl.

We are being assaulted from all sides by the forces of pure evil.

If you have the courage to speak up against licentiousness and sodomy, you could lose your job. Companies can blacklist you.

If you dare to say you believe in the values of your country, you could get canceled from social media platforms.

If you have the strength to bring people together for something righteous, they take your money away.

It’s terrifying. It’s maddening.

People can be so aligned against the inherent goodness in the human soul that it sucks the G-dliness out of us.

After marinating in the sewage of a day’s headlines from corporate media, you can be blinded to everything holy. You can even be blinded by fake news claims that Hashem doesn’t exist.

Then, out of a place you would least expect, Hashem shows you what it’s all about.

The Enemy of our Enemy is Finally Our Enemy

By invading Ukraine without provocation, Vladimir Putin has become public enemy number one.

The woke wants to shut him and his people down.

Politicians, sports stars, and celebrities have all joined the bandwagon condemning tyranny. For the moment, we are all on the same side. The wind is at the back of everyone standing up for what is right.

It’s a taste of the future.

What Is Mashiach?

What radical changes will occur in the world when Mashiach comes?

None.

The moment when Mashiach is revealed, there will be no change to the world as we know it.

After he is here, small changes to the world will ignite greater changes for us all.

Currently, we can see a stack of twenty dollar bills on a table bright as day. We can smell a grade-A sirloin steak bathing in sauteed onions from the next room.

The money we see right in front of us, we want. If the owner is telling us how it can be ours, we will listen to what he says and likely do what he wants.

The same goes for the chef of the steak.

When Mashiach comes, the mask of this world will diminish ever so slightly, enabling us to see Godliness the way we see a stack of $100 bills.

We will all want Him, the most valuable desire on this earth.

It will impact our thinking, our actions, and our ideology. It will impact everyone’s ideology.

We will all become progressive, moving towards everything Hashem wants because He is right in front of us, waving the greatest desire there is and directing us towards it.

How do I know everyone will want this?

Because we all have a conviction of right and wrong. When we see the true right and wrong, all of us will pursue it. The only reason there is a right wing and left wing is because we don’t know the absolute truth. It is hidden so we can all keep guessing.

The moment Hashem reveals Himself, nothing will be hidden. We will know what good is, and there will be nothing to argue about.

The New Woke

When we all wake up, the world will be united.

Facebook posts will be filled with people praying, learning, and doing kindness.

LinkedIn posts will be filled with investments to Torah institutions and building up the Land of Israel.

Celebrities, leaders, and famous people of all stripes will post what they learned today.

LinkedIn groups will be about ethics, Tanach, and serving Hashem.

One of us will say “Shema Yisrael,” and a million people will click like.

We will all see why technology was invented in the first place.

It’s so billions of people everywhere can say together,

“Hashem Echad uShmo Echad!”

God is One and His Name is One.

All the world’s inhabitants will recognize and know that to You every knee should bend, every tongue should swear. Before You, Hashem, our G-d, they will bend every knee and cast themselves down and to the glory of Your Name they will render homage, and they will all accept upon themselves the yoke of Your Kingship that You may reign over them soon and eternally.

The Aleinu Prayer that we recite three times every day.
