The Nismachah Wedding Band was established two years ago by Moshe Ebron and Shmuel Recanati. The band broke into the wedding market with the aim of bringing the yeshiva atmosphere into  a professional, young, and modern production.

In the first two years, the band appeared at 200 weddings and events. “We want to bring the yeshiva spirit, the Beit Midrash, into everyday life, since Jewish culture is reflected in weddings,” explains Samuel Recanati, soloist and band director.

As a result of the warm reception that the band received, the next step was to enter the studio and record an album. The songs were carefully chosen from Yeshiva and Hasidic melodies, and were brought into unique musical arrangements by the band members. The album called Shuvi Nafshi (Return, my Soul) is the result.

Shuvi Nafshi is the exciting tune from Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach for Psalm 116:7-8. “When one leaves the beit midrash, there is a feeling of disconnect. In the song we pray that the soul will return to her natural place as we journey through life,” explains Shmuel. “The connection with Aharon, who has a fixed place in the beit midrash, was only natural.”

Lyrics

Return, my soul, to your rest for Hashem has been kind to you.

For you have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling
