Media Warfare and Divine Intervention

Jewish victory in warfare was never about manpower, money, or military. We often fight at a severe disadvantage so Hashem can show the world that it is Him alone Who fights our enemies.

What was once dubbed “fake news” now brazenly censors truth. Why does the media silence Israel? Why does America impose sanctions on our military suppliers? We face an unsettling reality of increasing helplessness on all fronts, but that’s okay. It’s all for a crucial cause.

A spokesman for the Israeli government gave an interview on the UK’s Channel 4 News at the end of February. The first question the journalist asked was, “Do you accept that children are starving to death in Gaza?”

The Israeli spokesman replied that Hamas started the war by assaulting our civilians in a Pearl Harbor surprise attack. He said that we are, in fact, allowing aid in, but that it’s being stolen by Hamas for the sole purpose of starving its own people and maximizing civilian casualties.

The journalist ignored him. It goes on like this for the entire interview. The journalist implies that Israel is guilty of killing innocent children, and the spokesman makes the case for Israel in a factual and eloquent manner.

That’s when the media station itself jumped into the ring with brass knuckles and a steel chair. They edited the Israeli spokesman’s audio track and censored the things they didn’t want him to say. Only when they were satisfied with his “approved” responses did they broadcast their version of the interview. You can see it here. Look at his lips as you hear his words – the audio and visual are not working together.

In other news, production of the Iron Dome system, which has prevented Hamas and Hezbollah missiles from landing on innocent women and children, is being stalled by American interference. The Finkelstein Metals company, located in the US, makes the parts that go into the Iron dome projectiles that intercept incoming fire. The company is accused of receiving prohibited government subsidies and selling products in the US at inflated prices. The current American Administration has launched an unprecedented investigation into Finkelstein Metals and has imposed sanctions and customs duties.  In sharp contrast, the American Administration is turning the other cheek to Palestinians who use American aid to pay the families of the murderers, rapists, and kidnappers of October 7. If the Biden government is successful, we could face a shortage of Iron Dome countermeasures right before Hezbollah starts attacking us with up to ten times the amount of missiles Hamas ever had.

Why is this happening?

The Jewish Art of Warfare: Strategies Beyond the Battlefield

Let’s delve into history.

Back in Egypt during the rule of Joseph, Jews were rich, powerful, and influential. The Egyptians eventually took it all away and enslaved us. We became powerless.  Only when we became completely helpless could redemption be accepted as coming directly from God.

The first war to exterminate the Jews was waged by Egypt at the Red Sea. They embarked on a military campaign of genocide against the Jewish People. Hashem wiped out Egypt. He lured them into the water and drowned them. We didn’t do anything. The only action attributed to us was when Nachshon ben Aminadav started walking into the water all the way up to his neck in an act of pure faith.

When we first entered the Land of Israel, Hashem split the Jordan River. We sent out Calev and Pinchas to spy out Jericho, and they came back with a green light to attack. Jericho was the gateway to Canaan and was exceptionally well fortified. Our first conquest came when God brought down the walls of Jericho.

The very next battle was at the city of Ai. We lost that battle not because we lacked manpower or resources. We lost because one man out of tens of thousands who took part in the battle of Jericho sinned against Hashem by taking booty. As a result, He didn’t let us win.

This is the pattern of Jewish warfare. It’s not about manpower, money, or military weaponry. It never was. When we have too much, it’s taken from us so that we can see more clearly. We fight alone, and often at a severe disadvantage so that God can show us that it is Him, and Him alone, Who is fighting our enemies.

Trusting in Hashem: The Foundation of Jewish Survival

They rely on horses and chariots, but we proclaim the Name of God. They slumped and fell, but we rose and gained strength. (Psalms 20:8-9).

These profound words echo the spirit of Israel’s brave warriors, epitomized by our greatest warrior, King David. King David didn’t call for arms or charging into battle; instead, he urged us to cry out to Hashem. We fight with the righteous merit of our deeds, beseeching Hashem to return our soldiers home safely.

There may come a time when our voices crying to Hashem will be drowned out by a wicked social media algorithm. Let’s turn away from distractions like Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg. Hashem is shutting down the media front. We cannot rely on the world’s validation. Our path lies in repentance. We must refocus our energies on returning to Him.

Nor can we rely on our allies’ and partners’ validation. America’s actions could extend beyond mere harassment of a military parts company. They could cut off all aid, stop vetoing anti-Israeli resolutions at the UN, and even put their own military inside Lebanon so we can’t get rid of Hezbollah.

America could take it even further and portray Israel’s self-defense against Hamas as “aggressive.” They could claim that our conquest of Gaza is no different than Vladimir Putin’s conquest of Ukraine and throw us out of the international financial system as they did to Russia.

Such actions would render us defenseless, destitute, and alone.

Don’t be angry, and don’t be afraid. It’s all for a greater purpose.

Like our ancestors in Egypt, our only refuge will be in Hashem’s embrace. Just as He redeemed us from slavery before the entire world, so too will He redeem His children for all to see.

When the Lord returns the exiles to Zion, we shall be like dreamers. Then our mouths will be filled with laughter and our tongues with songs of praise; then they will say among the nations, “The Lord has done great things with these.” (Psalms 126:1-2)
