Parpar: The Butterfly
Special for Breslev Kids: butterlies weren't always beautiful – they started out the hard way as ugly little caterpillars...
I’m a pretty butterfly
And my name is Parpar,
When I fly through the air I can go very far.
As HaShem planned my life,
He gave me nice wings,
For me, they’re important, above other things.
I land on a flower,
Or the fruit of a tree,
And I drink up the liquids which gives me energy.
Before I was born,
My mommy laid eggs,
We turned into caterpillars with many small legs.
I ate up my food,
Until I got stronger,
Then I built a chrysalis to protect me much longer.
When I was finally ready,
To return to the world,
I came out as a butterfly with my wings softly curled.
I may be good-looking,
My colors are rare,
But I try to be modest when I fly through the air.
When I get tired,
And the day’s almost done,
I thank HaShem for my blessings and all the day’s fun.
I love you, HaShem!
