Hardboiled Eggs, Part 4
As a matter of principle and tradition, he refused to lock up for lunch break,
and left the display of eggs on outside in hopes that he’d catch the guy who made this big mistake
Sure enough, right at two minutes before three, when he returned to his store
another twelve eggs were missing. Someone came back and took more!
Willy was furious. He began a mental survey of his neighbours and connections.
It can’t be Kirk Mitchell the forest ranger, because at this time of the day, he doing his inspections.
Harvey Clarington, the postal clerk, is one of the most respectable folks he’d ever met,
Willy has known for forty years; he’s never even had an outstanding debt.
Roger Smith, owner of the farmer supply store, has twice the hens than Willy;
He doesn’t need any extra eggs. That would be really silly!
Randy Willis is vegan, the owner of the camping goods store,
There is no way it would be him – he is trustworthy to the core.
To be continued.
