Daily Torah Quote
The Servant King. Every day the Roman Caesar Antoninus would serve Rebbe Yehuda the Prince; he would bring him food and drink. When Rebbe wanted to go to bed, the Caesar would bend over so Rebbe could step up on his back. Rebbe refused, saying: “It’s not proper conduct to cheapen the kingship.” The Caesar answered: “If only I could be a rug under your feet in the World to Come!” He asked, “Rebbe, will I have a portion in the World to Come?” Rebbe answered, “Yes.” When the Caesar Antoninus died, Rebbe cried and said, “The package has become separated.”
