Ask Hashem for Everything
Many times we are broken because we want to accomplish or change something in our lives and we fail. We need to know how to get our heart (not just our head) to change.
A person can know things, give lectures, even be a spectacular speaker – everything. But in his own life – G-d should have mercy. Why is it like that?
Because man has a mind and heart. A man lives by his heart, and his heart is full of selfishness, arrogance, and lusts.
If someone doesn’t work on himself, and he won’t make time for his one hour of personal prayer, and do it properly every single day…
But when you do you hour of hitbodedut every day, then there is only joy, quiet, and tranquility throughout the house.
Why? Because he does an hour of personal prayer every day.
You need to understand: You know things? Excellent. But you have a heart, and the heart need to know those things. And the heart – the heart is hitbodedut, and the heart is prayer.
What happens to a person? A person knows things but he cannot live with them.
Most people – why are they sad? Why? They know things, and they want to accomplish things. They want to fulfill the commandments. [And time and again, they do not succeed.]
What do they not know? They do not know the definition of what it is called a “believer” – someone with emuna.
G-d, the Creator of the world, tells someone with emuna: “I have one request! Just one request from you.” Whoever has emuna, God has only one request from him: “Ask Me for everything! Ask Me for emuna, ask Me to pray and pray properly, ask me to enable you to do an hour of hitbodedut, ask Me for happiness, ask Me to help you keep the Sabbath. Every mitzvah that I command you to do – ask Me to enable you to do it, and I will give it you!”
Therefore, someone with emuna knows “I have one address to go to for all my needs,” and then he calms down.
Remember well! Your Father in Heaven loves you!
“I request only one thing from you – ask Me for everything!!!”
Remember this definition well.
