Journey (Russian only)
The story of the rabbi and his only son, told by Rabbi Nachman with a commentary by Rabbi Erez Moshe Doron.
We went to college, partied in dormitories and graduated with honors.
We traveled to the Far East in search of what we could not find at home …
We sped along the highways of Europe and took in the sights.
We made money; we wheeled and dealed; we excelled in high tech.
We played politics; we made the news; we were stars; we were a rare breed; we achieved everything that is possible to achieve. And then, at the very end of the road, when all the highways and side roads were behind us, we were suddenly very tired.
We yearned for life, pleasure, meaning, power – we were left completely alone.
We were cheated, degraded, weary of the endless chatter in ourselves and around us.
Senses over-stimulated, yet empty inside.
Ashamed of our dreams, exposed in our nakedness, farther than ever from what we were striving for.
We realized … We intended a different journey…
