Some of the messages of the Rebbe that are conveyed in this sefer is that the challenges, setbacks, and moments of hopelessness that we face in life are one of the main parts of our avodas Hashem.

In between every step of the ladder of life that we climb, there is an empty space that feels devoid of light. Darkness is a form of light – a challenge is only there to bring us to a higher level. Everything is only good. Every Yid is holy and pure, and no one can understand the challenges of another besides the tzaddikim – who lend advice and encouragement – and that the challenging journey one may find themselves on or in is their specific tikkun and ultimate good.
