I read this book during the Nine Days. It gave such a descriptive narration of what was happening during the final days of the Second Beit HaMikdash.
Typically, I’ve read books about the destruction, but they were history books – dry, impersonal. “Sacrifice” drew a picture of the unspeakable brutality of the Roman empire as they overtook villages and towns on their way to J’lem. It also portrayed the divisiveness of the Jews as one group pits itself against another or aligns with the Romans.
