Thin Tzitzit Strings – Radzyn

The mitzvah of tzitzit is practiced in Am Israel from the time of the receiving the Torah. Because of the harsh exile and the decrees of the nations, this precious commandment was lost.

 

About 125 years ago, God inspired the heart of Rabbi Gershon Hanoch, who gave to the Rav of Radzin, to revive the use of the techelet blue color in tzitzit. To this end, he conducted extensive Torah research and in our holy books, beginning with the Mishnayot and the Gemara through the Rishonim and Acharonim, and in his three books he halachically raised the possibility of finding the specific snail for the techelet dye.

 

After a hectic search, he found in the city of Naples the original snail, which is consistent with all its signs that appear in Shas and the early books, and with great effort came to dye the techelet threads as dyed during the time of the sages.
