Yaakov's reaction to seeing his "dead" son Yosef after 22 years was to tearfully say the "Sh'ma". Yaakov's preparation for their exile in Egypt was to recite the "Sh'ma" to affirm his emuna in Hashem. This is also applicable to us in our own exile.
