Judaism: A Rational Approach

Objective Evidence for the Validity of Jewish Tradition

Have you ever asked yourself, Is there a rational basis for my belief?

Most religions are pitched as entirely faith-based propositions; either you choose to believe or you don’t. Judaism, however, demands that its followers objectively internalize its core tenets rather than only subjectively “believe.”

Subjectivity is driven by emotion; objectivity is driven by fact. Judaism: A Rational Approach examines the facts, by applying the Jewish tradition to the fundamental questions of origin, evidence, consistency, and clarity.

Within these pages you will find the objective evidence for the validity of the Jewish tradition using principles of probability and reason. Written by an accomplished attorney, this book reveals how human values pale in comparison to our enduring legacy.

I must admit that when I saw the title, I thought to myself “This book sounds like a snoozer…”

    How wrong I was!!

The author takes us on a fascinating journey that proves the authenticity of Jewish beliefs. He compares Judaism with other religions such as Islam and Christianity to demonstrate its Divine origin.

The author, a lawyer and experienced speaker for the outreach organization Arachim, presents a case for the divine origin of the Torah, using legal and rational arguments. He structures the book like a legal argument, drawing on evidence from historical transmission, prophecies, and national revelation to make a cumulative case.

This style was particularly helpful to me given my background as a geyoret (convert). As such, I’m also interested in the serious influence that Evangelical missionaries are making among unlearned Jews. I can see this book as giving the Big Picture of Judaism versus Christianity.

Fascinating reading! I highly recommend it!
