No More Allies

And you shall be holy to Me, for I, the Lord, am holy, and I have distinguished you from the peoples, to be Mine. – Vayikra 20:26 

It is a nation that will dwell alone, and will not be reckoned among the nations. – Parshat Balak 23:9 

For the fifth time in 70 years, America has ordered us to surrender a war we already won. We are all alone in this world, helpless to the whims of the nations who hate us. Baruch Hashem! 

In the past 80 years, we have suffered more defeat at the hands of our allies than we have at the hands of our enemies: 

• 1956. In 100 hours, Israel captures the Sinai Peninsula and the Gaza Strip from Egypt. American President Eisenhower applied immense economic pressure on Israel—even threatening to cut off vital U.S. aid—until Israel agreed to hand back all captured land.
• 1973. Right after turning the tide of the Yom Kippur War, America and the UN jointly forced a ceasefire upon us. Five years later, America forced Israel to give up the Sinai Peninsula with the guarantee it will not have Egyptian soldiers on the Israeli border.

The treaty specifically banned Egyptian combat aircraft from the Sinai’s eastern zone. Israel agreed in 2012 to permit fighter aircraft to enter Sinai airspace only to conduct airstrikes against terrorists. Recently, Israel has raised alarms over permanent military runways built there.

By 2023, there were far more Egyptian troops in the Sinai Peninsula. Egypt states this buildup is to secure its borders from ISIS terrorists. Israeli officials view the scale of the Egyptian military buildup on their border as deeply suspect since the ISIS threat in the Sinai has largely faded.

• 1993. After defeat in Lebanon, the PLO set up their headquarters in Tunisia for a decade. Under terms of the Oslo Accords, Arafat and his leadership team moved to the Gaza Strip and to Jericho. 
• 2006, 2008, 2012, 2014, 2021, 2022, 2023 (before Oct. 7). Hamas fires rockets directly at innocent civilians. Each time, Israel retaliates, and each time America demands the IDF stop short of any serious campaign to annihilate Hamas.  
• 2026. After two successful air campaigns against Iran and a devastating defeat of Hezbollah (Iran’s proxy in Lebanon), America arbitrarily signs a Memorandum Of Understanding with Tehran. Part of this memorandum demands that Israel withdraw from military positions in southern Lebanon that we established to protect civilians inside Israel.  

When we trust the nations, we are at our worst.  

When we declared war on Iran on June 13, 2025 (“Twelve Day War”, “Operation Rising Lion”), Iran didn’t get away with anything. A few hours after the American-brokered ceasefire went into effect, Iran fired ballistic missiles at Israel. We were ready to retaliate when President Trump forced Israel to stand down, effectively leaving Iran with the final strike.

Even as we all scurry into our bomb shelters, waiting for the sirens, the silence, and then the blast, we are all determined to continue until the evil monsters firing at our children are destroyed. It’s our human allies who make deals with the devil that force us to kneel before the ayatollah and let them burn our country. 

When we resist, they threaten us: 

Bibi, you better be careful, or you will be on your own very soon.

Our Only Protection 

These trust in chariots and these in horses, but we – we mention the name of the Lord our God. – Psalms 20:8 

When we rely on Hashem, we are at our best. 

When we are all alone, with only God to protect us, the outcome is different: 

• 1948. After threatening the Jewish nation with reprisals if we declared a state, America reluctantly recognized Israel. America enforced a neutrality embargo and refused to sell us weapons, even deploying the FBI to American ports to prevent anyone else from trying. On the eve of Israel’s War of Independence, we had zero allies while our Air Force was trapped in Panama.  

With only Hashem to rely on, God delivered Israel from powerful Arab armies led by top Arab generals and World War II-hardened British General Glubb of Jordan’s Arab Legion.  
 

• 1967. For three weeks, the Arabs encircled Israel, cutting off trade routes and crossing the Sinai. America (President Johnson) demanded that we allow them and not strike first. As the situation deteriorated, the IDF Chief of Staff Yitzhak Rabin had a nervous breakdown, and the Chief Rabbis commissioned 15,000 emergency graves in public parks in anticipation of mass casualties.  

On the eve of the war, American President Johnson warns the Jewish People that, “Israel will not be alone unless it decides to go it alone.” 
 
Armed with nothing but Hashem’s blessing, we wiped out four Arab armies in six days and retook Jerusalem.  

• 1976. When Arab and German terrorists hijacked an Air France plane, taking 260 people hostage, the international community called for Israel to give the terrorists what they wanted to secure the hostages’ release. Instead, we flew the daring Operation Entebbe rescue mission that was kept secret from the world. All hostages were saved.  
   

• 1980. Despite unanimous opposition from every nation, Israel declares all of Jerusalem the eternal capital of the Jewish People. Almost 50 years later, Jerusalem enjoys a population of over 1 million residents, with more yeshivot, synagogues, and returnees to Judaism than at any point in Jewish history.  
   

• 1981, 2007. Against the wishes of America, Europe, and the UN, Israel unilaterally flew into enemy territory to destroy Iraqi and Syrian nuclear plants, thus preventing Saddam Hussein and Bashar Assad from acquiring nuclear weapons. 

One True Ally 

We are a nation that dwells alone. Like the first Pesach offering, where Hashem commands us to publicly slaughter the Egyptian god, we are commanded to follow a set of rules that our “allies” don’t like. People  label us as “racist” and “genocidal” for following God’s commands:   

• If you slander a goy (non-Jew), it’s slander. If you slander a Jew, the sin is more horrific.  (Vayikra 19:16)
• It’s one thing to hate your enemy, you are forbidden to hate a Jew.  (Vayikra 19:17)
• It’s one thing to charge interest to a goy. It’s a sin to do so to a Jew.  (Vayikra 25: 36-37)
• It is an abomination for a Jew to marry anyone but a Jew.  (Devarim 7:3-4)
• It is an abomination for a Jew, or anyone for that matter, to have any type of physical relationship with a member of the same sex.  (Vayikra 18:22, 20:13)
• We are commanded to live from the Euphrates to the Nile. Judea, Shomron, Gaza, Sinai, Lebanon, Jordan, and parts of Syria and Saudi Arabia are the inheritance of the Jewish People.  (Genesis 15:18)
• We are commanded to wipe out Amalek. We are commanded every day in our prayers to God, to remember to commit “genocide” against Amalek.  (Devarim 25:19)

We are supposed to stand alone and rely on God. No ally should ever be permanent.  

In ancient Egypt, Jews sacrificed the lambs for their Passover Seder to publicly reject Egyptian false gods. Today, Jews are likewise commanded to follow Hashem rather than rely on modern allies.

We Must Stand Alone 

The only way we can fulfill our mission as the Jewish People is to stand with God, and only God.  

Over the past 60 years, we have discarded this advice. As a result, we have given up roughly 80% of all land captured during wars.

As Jewish historian Rabbi Ken Spiro said, “If we fail to make Havdalah (separation), they will make Kaddish (prayer for the dead).” 

President Trump is doing just that. Soon enough, we will be left alone against the nations, with no allies. . . We will have God, and only God, to rely on.  

In Sefer Hoshea 3:5, Hashem blesses Israel that in the End of Days all of us will repent. Standing alone, with nobody but God pushes us in this great direction.  

Out of the hands of USA and into the loving embrace of GOD.
