Continuing the Legacy of Charlie Kirk

The entire world has reached a true turning point in history with the cold-blooded murder of Charlie Kirk. Shabbat, marriage, fighting for the truth – we must continue his legacy!

Charlie was and will forever be a legend. He was unstoppable, a great force for the side of good, truth, religion, and open debate. If you want to argue that he was indeed stopped by a bullet, just look at the movement that has erupted in the wake of his death! A sniper bullet might have stopped the human body called Charlie Kirk, but bullets cannot stop his spiritual legacy.

Charlie was a great defender of Israel and the Jewish people. I saw a video of him discussing the fact that so much of America’s youth, even those coming from religious Christian backgrounds, thought that Israel was an apartheid state better off not existing in its current form. Charlie ferociously fought back against these lies and visited Israel himself. He discussed the “apartheid” that allows Muslims free reign around the country, while Jews and Christians would be killed by bloodthirsty terrorists if they wander into Palestinian Authority controlled areas. In fact, he had just been invited back to Israel by Prime Minister Netanyahu only a couple weeks before his murder.

I was shocked to discover that Charlie had recently started turning off his phone from Friday night to Saturday night to “observe the Sabbath” of sorts. In fact, he even has a book that was in final production and is now being published posthumously called “STOP in the Name of God.” Here is a video of Charlie and Erika discussing Shabbat(X) and how it has changed their lives and their marriage.

God Himself calls Shabbat a special gift from His treasure house. Although according to Jewish law non-Jews are forbidden from fully keeping Shabbat, the concept of taking a break and stopping the rat race of this world is absolutely for everyone. Charlie and his wife Erika both described the inner transformation that they experience by tuning into spirituality and by remembering that there is indeed a God in this world Who is running it perfectly.

Charlie argued for morality and truth. He openly debated these ideas with anyone willing to come to the mic and discuss them. Although Judaism clearly disagrees with many of the foundations of Christianity, the last Lubavitcher Rebbe was a big proponent of supporting religion for non-Jews because religion encourages them to be overall decent human beings. Unsurprisingly, as Western civilization increasingly throws off the yoke of religion and God, people are throwing off Judeo-Christian values as well. When we foster “equity” among ourselves rather than use basic values to underpin our laws and principles, then there is no moral foundation to stop the mayhem that we see rampaging in the streets of the world.

The worst of the worst has been unleashed. Literally, count the ways that the Seven Noahide Laws, which God gave to all humankind – are being openly trampled.

  • Do not murder. Open bloodshed, like the brutal murder of Iryna Zarutska. Iryna was minding her business on a light-rail train in North Carolina when she was murdered by a repeat felon who, according to Torah law, should have been locked away long ago.
  • Do not steal.  Robbery has skyrocketed, especially in cities with liberal policies. One example of such a policy is cashless bail. Another example is California’s not prosecuting by law unless the thief has stolen large amounts or multiple times.
  • Set up courts and bring offenders to justice. Recently it has been claimed that standards to fill the “high positions” of judges and magistrates were significantly lowered to meet diversity goals.  Justice and law are the bedrock of society; this is not the place to lower standards! Without the rule of law, the Torah Sages say that man will eat each other alive. (Here is an excellent article about the requirement for judges and police in The Jerusalem Post. This article was clearly written by a Torah scholar to discuss how the Torah sheds light on current affairs).
  • Do not engage in forbidden relationships. The fifth of the Seven Noahide Laws forbids sexual immorality, which many scholars say includes a requirement for marriage. Forget about LGBTQ, just look at the rape statistics and the Pakistani grooming rape gangs in the UK as stark examples. In accordance with this Noahide law, Charlie argued strongly for saving oneself for marriage, and for having children and building a family.

I could keep going! Charlie argued against all this lawlessness and the social wreckage that is being spewed in its wake. He stood against the tidal wave of radical indoctrination that fills public schools and universities. I saw a good meme that said, “Charlie wasn’t killed for talking to youth. He was killed because they were listening.”

God requires all mankind to keep the Seven Noahide laws, to believe that God is the one and only God, and to recognize that the Jewish people are His people. I give Charlie Kirk huge credit for starting a movement to bring people, especially youth, back to conservative, “common sense” values that are based on God’s Torah.

How We Can Continue Charlie’s Legacy

Besides supporting Israel and keeping Shabbat, which Charlie was particularly passionate about, one of the best things you can do to honor his memory is to read and distribute “The Universal Garden of Emuna”. This book by Rabbi Arush teaches non-Jews about God and how to live a happier life through a personal relationship with God. It includes an amazing explanation of the Seven Noahide Commandments for all mankind.

In the same way that you’ll get the most out of a refrigerator if you use it in accordance with the instruction manual, so too God created humans and wrote an “instruction manual” called the Torah. Just like there are laws of nature, so too there are spiritual laws that God uses to run the world. We are the most successful, happy, and fulfilled when we live our lives in accordance with those laws.

After all, as we see by the disastrous results of the breakdown of following God’s laws, they were created for our benefit!

Charlie, you fought until the end and died a warrior and a hero. In this epic battle of good versus evil, and on the list of righteous gentiles, Charlie’s name shines brightly. I draw comfort from knowing he is surely in Gan Eden, Heaven, and pray that humanity will follow in his footsteps to come closer to the Creator and walk in Charlie’s ways of morality, values, common sense, support of Jews and Israel, truth and honest debate of ideas against the moral rot which has overtaken the world.

May he rest in peace.

Well said.

@judge
I’m not sure what you meant by “concur with the Noahide Law”.

Charlie was clearly a devout Christian, so he did not concur with the first commandment of “Do not worship false gods”. He certainly concurred with the other six commandments.

The author must have missed this. But not only did Charlie concur with the Noahide Law, he actually cited it in a video where he argued with a total lunatic.
